Help needed with Nokia 6300 micro-SD card upgrade

Hi,

Newbie here. My 6300 came with a 128MB card. I filled it with pictures
and some video, then bought a 2 GB card to replace it. I backed up
everything to a PC.

The first problem - the games on the original card are copy-protected,
and can't be backed up.

I then swapped the cards and restored the backup back to the phone,

Second problem - settings, wallpapers, etc have not been restored. Is
there a better way to do this? Maybe copy the card contents across on
a USB card reader? Is there any better info available than the user
manual?

The games are indeed copy protected, heaven knows why since they are
usually available for download from Nokia as well! The only reason I can
see for the copy protection is because they can. Don't ever forget that
the secure in secure digital refers to the ability to lock content on a
card; it's for the content owner's protection, not yours. The first thing
then is to locate the games at Nokia; they can take some tracking down. As
to the second issue: put the phone in data storage mode (non PC suite)
mode when you connect and copy all that you can to a folder on the PC and
then put the new 2 GB card in and copy the whole lot over. You should get
everything bar the games/apps ( on a 6233 Sensor, Presenter and the games
were all locked and had to be downloaded).

I had the same problem and solved it by copying the games to the phone's
memory, changing the micro sd card and then copying them back to the memory
card. Hope this helps.
