Dial your cell phone, but instead of the last four digits, input
"MAIL".
So it would be 1-917-555-MAIL (6245)
You hear a welcome, then you're asked to input your number
and press pound: 917 555 1212#
Then you're asked to enter your four-digit password and press
pound.
That's it.

Thanks. Now, where does the 4-digit password come from? Apparently, my
keylock code on the phone is the same as the mailbox code. Is it set up
from within the mailbox setup options on voicmail?

That's right, and you can change it when necessary. I believe the
default is the last four digits of your phone number, or 1,2,3,4. Can't
recall.

Re: How to access voicemail from landline phone
Calling your cell phone to check voicemail doesn't use any minutes
when you call it from a landline phone, unless for some reason you
would answer your cell phone as you are calling from a landline phone

In terms of this method, how do you intercept the automated message so that
knows you're trying to check the voicemail? pound?

Calling your own actual cell phone number is the easiest way to access
voicemail with no time charges. When the robot starts talking, press *
(star). You will be prompted from there.

Re: How to access voicemail from landline phone
I am glad you all ask this question, on my verIzon mail account I can gt
to voice mail by dialing my own cell phone number or *86--I normally
keep my phone "no-answer-transfered" to a land line--if nothing else, it
records the caller id of missed calls(for whatever reason) even with
no-ans-t/f set up, *86 will go to voice mail( but it is billed as
regular call)-if I dial cell phone number it goes to n/a t/f #--but if
the n/s t/foption if off, goes to voice mail, as a M2M call--is cheaper
Is anyone way of more little "quirks" in the system> let us know.

Re: How to access voicemail from landline phone
If you have the free PCS-TO-PCS option on your cell phone, you can access
your VM free of charge.
Her is how:
Program the following number in one of the speed dial numbers on your phone
11xxx-xxx-xxxxT**Tyyy-yyy-yyyy#zzz#
xxx-xxx-xxxx is any valid SprinPCS number (your wife, a friend, etc.)
yyy-yyy-yyyy is the cell phone number for which you want to access VM,
most likely yours
zzzz is your 4 digit password for VM
T is a 2 seconds pause that can be access from the
Options when entering the number
11 in front of the dialed number will tell the system to
go directly to VM. This way the number you dial won't ring
This works on my Sanyo 8100 with PRL 10020 and 1.115SP. This should work
with any sprint phone.
You may not be able to enter the whole number if your phone doesn't have the
latest update.
