I read this over engadget, and it says that there have been complaints about iPhone overheating after its GPS feature have been used.. and due to overheating, the white color of its top panel changes into light pink or brown.
let's hope Apple will fix this..

Re: iPhone Overheats and changes Color?
Hi are you referring the to iPhone 3G or 3GS. I have the 3G and have had no problems whatsoever. I have heard that the 3GS does have over heating issues when in use for extended periods of time however.
But to answer your question about knowing if its overheating. Without sounding too obvious, basically if it's unusually hot to touch (much hotter than normal operating temperatures) its overheating!

Re: iPhone Overheats and changes Color?
Color issue was shown to be from bad leather case. Can be cleaned with alcohol.

Re: iPhone Overheats and changes Color?
I read about it too, but my 3gs has not shown this issue yet. I've used the GPS extensively with xGPS (from Cydia) for a 1.5 hour road trip and if anything it was slightly warmer than usual, but certainly not overheating.

Re: iPhone Overheats and changes Color?
You should do some research... just a suggestion
I read an article on the web via google news that showed how the "burn" marks could be easily cleaned. This would lead me to believe that the discoloration didn't come from the inside of the phone from extreme overheating. I have a 3gs black iphone and have yet to experience this FLAMING hot iphone
