Re: iphone 4 battery
I notice my battery goes down faster if I have many apps multitasking. I always remove them from multitask after using an app.

Re: iphone 4 battery
My iPhone 4 (√erizon) has a great battery life, Moderate use i can push 3-4 days.
How is your Signal... poor/weak signal can drain a battery
Heavy data usage using 3G
Connect to WiFi whenever possible when using Data
Illuminating the screen constantly checking the time and/or home screen
Push notifications (social media)
The more your Phone is engage/works... the more power it uses.
I personally don't use Push Notifications... if i want to check emails i open the email App, if i want to use, or check Tweeter, i open the App.
I wouldn't focus on shutting down Apps as a great power saver, but if you use a lot of Apps at any given time, double click the Home Button and X out the used Apps, i usually do this when i want to free up RAM when i use the Internet (safari) GPS or when i take videos/photos and want to send them in a email.
My iPhone 4 has the best battery i ever had in a phone.

one other thing... At least once a month, maybe twice a month i let the Battery drain down to Approx 5%, then i give it a full charge to 100%, and while its still connected to the charger i power my phone down after it hits 100%, and leave it charging for another 15-30 minutes.
I then power my phone up while still connected to the charger, when its done Booting-up, i disconnect it from the charger.

Re: iphone 4 battery
If you do not have at least 3 bars of signal you phone will boost the signal search reception increasing your signal but draining your battery... so if you are in an area with crappy 3G but really good edge it is often better to just turn off 3G for the short time...

Re: iphone 4 battery
Here are a few
1. Clear your multitasking tray
2. Turn down your brightness
3. If you have bad service, and you don't need service, put your phone in airplane mode. This will save battery because when the iPhone has poor signal it uses battery to search for a stronger signal.
5. Turn off 3G/Wi-Fi
I hope this is helpful.
