My picks for top reception, starting with the best IMO:
1. Motorola V3xx
2. Nokia N75
3. Blackberry Curve
4. Motorola V9
5. Sony Ericsson W580i

Re: Best Phone for Reception?
I own the V3xx and live in a remote area. It's the best for reception of any phone I have had.

Re: Best Phone for Reception?
Not from AT&T......I live near a ski resort and lose reception on most phones at least 3 times on the drive home.....never on the V3xx......as a matter of fact, I have 5 bars at home with it, and neither the Blackberry nor iPhone get any bars at all.
Unfortunately, you need to get the V3xx from another source at this time (unless you happen to find an AT&T store that has one squirreled away on a back shelf -- but those are quickly disappearing).

Re: Best Phone for Reception?
My wife's Sony Ericsson W580i makes my Motoroal Q look awful. My Q drops calls and sounds awful while she can use her W580i in areas where I get no bars on my Q.

Re: Best Phone for Reception?
We are also at the edge of ATT reception but have had mostly okay reception. I was the only one in my family with my original phone, a Samsung Sync (I think that's right). I've really liked it even though it didn't have the qwerty keyboard that most of the new phones have now. My other family's phones flaked and they got cheapy prepay subs to finish our their contract. After our contract expired, we agonized over what to do, finally decided on Samsung Impressions. We bought 3 of them, were excited, came home and not a one will work. We just get a NO SERVICE screen. I'm wondering if any of the new ATT phones will be better. I can't understand why our cheaper phones would work and these totally not at all. Is there that much of a difference between phones?"

Re: Best Phone for Reception?
I own a V9x and get good reception almost everywhere but I believe my old V3xx was the best. My wife still has a Samsung SYNC and drops calls in areas I never had or have problems with.

Re: Best Phone for Reception?
Hands Down! For the best cell phone reception get a Sony Ericsson Z520a. It's a little bit dated now but it's reception blows away anything that's out there. I've tried many cell phones from motorola, nokia, and sony ericsson and the Z520a is the only reliable phone when you need it most, especially in remote areas.
