I have a CHEAP Sprint plan that most people would find too barebones, but I'm quite happy. However, I am moving and Sprint coverage there is horrible (no surprise) while AT&T and Verizon have good coverage.

So, I am wondering what's the best AT&T options are for me (and I will compared them to Verizon options and maybe other providers if they had good coverage, I doubt it.)

I am open to a prepaid, an individual plan, or going in with my boyfriend on a Family plan (he is currently on AT&T without contract). I would be a brand new AT&T customer if I am not doing the Family plan with him. And I am okay with signing a contract especially if it's only 1 year.

I am also not picky about what phone I get to a large extent... but either, a relatively cheap phone that I put up with to save money... or I would like an Android phone if I'm having to pay a lot per month anyway. OR, I am also interested in ditching a "phone" but instead having a SMALL tablet/pad/whatever as long as it has good phone quality (I am iffy on VOIP but would consider it).

    1) Data is the most important to me. I really want "unlimited" data, but maybe I can deal with "only" 2-3 GB. This probably means prepaids are out? I really cringe at paying $30/mo and up for data, but if I have to, I guess I have to. (I am basically getting FREE unlimited data now. Though it's a little slow. I don't mind.)

    2) I would like to be able to tether my PDA and laptop to my phone. But again, costs are scaring me away. And this means it's easier to use more data. I generally ONLY do this when I'm traveling which is not very often but when I am, it's very useful and I would hate to not have this.

    3) I want texts but I could live with as little as 300-500/month.

    4) Voice minutes, I have only 200 anytime mins now (at Sprint). I'd like more but I also like saving money. Part of why I can deal with having so few is because I have a Pick 3 unlimited, and early N&W. But in general, as you see, I am very low usage.

    5) Wifi really preferred but would go without if it's cheap.

    6) Camera, GPS, etc I am okay with settling for less. Good quality camera would be really nice though. (GPS too.)

However, IF I am doing the Family plan with my boyfriend, he likes having Unlimited minutes or a very high number so it's nearly unlimited... (He does not use data but would like to someday, and he uses some texts but not much like me.) [BTW, AT&T seems to be ripping him off? He currently has a $74.99 individual plan, unlimited minutes, 200 texts, no data.]

I am also open to unusual hybrid options such as using one device for Data and then using a second device to supplement. I am not necessarily looking for the cheapest option, but I want something that seems like a good or great deal, and lean towards the cheaper options for now.

    Thank you so much.
