(sorry, the title should be "GoPhone on existing phone")
Hello everyone,
I have a question about imported phones. If I come to the US with a phone bought in Europe (let's say a Samsung Galaxy), can I activate the AT&T GoPhone service? Or do I need to buy an AT&T phone?
If I can't use GoPhone, do I have any other options to use my European phone with a decent voice and data plan, preferably with no contract?
Thank you!

Re: GoPhone on existing plan
You can use an unlocked phone on Straight Talk.
The cost would be $45 per month for unlimited talk, text, and data.

Re: GoPhone on existing plan
If the phone has the appropriate frequencies for GSM and WCDMA (850 MHz and 1900 MHz), you can use it with GoPhone service. You may have to modify the settings to get data and MMS to work. If you are only concerned about voice and messages, you can purchase a GoPhone kit for about $20.00. Since April of this year, you can only purchase data packages if you also purchase thirty day service plans.
