Hey community,
I'm just wondering-
I'm considering buying a Nexus 4 when it comes out (Nov 13 or later), on a family plan on AT&T, but there's one catch - I don't want to pay for a data plan.
Now, I understand that since the phone hasn't come out yet, you guys may not know, but I'm asking because there's gotta be some smarties out there that know this stuff.
Thanks!

Re: Nexus 4 on AT&T - No Data
AT&T requires data plans for all "smart phone" devices. That is where it gets tricky, as for them to know it's a smart phone they have to have the IMEI block in their system.
For something like the Nexus 4, my guess is they will have it added. They did that with most (if not eventually all) of the earlier Nexus devices. Some people would be using the lower cost data plans (not Smartphone) but would get tagged a few months in.
A good rule of thumb is, if AT&T sells the phone-- they will have it in their system as a smart phone. Also, if it's a "big" launch it will likely be in their system as well (Nexus One as an example).
