James, if indeed you work for Telstra, I would warn you against making
    comments on behalf of Telstra.

As I assume you would not have permission from Corporate and Media Affairs?

Well, it IS offensive to those of us who aren't Christians! Note the
    time/date stamp on my posts.

    "Sat, 16 Dec 2006 16:49:44 +1000". That makes you a
    Queenslander - hardly a religion.

Or do you mean your incomplete (no timezone) manipulation of the
DTG you're replying to: "On Sat, 25 Kislev 5767 14:26..."?

Well, at least you're using Knode, even if you're not a fellow
    atheist.

OFFENSIVE what a load of ****. Get over it, who gives a **** what
religion anyone is. Saying Merry Christmas, Happy Honaker, Happy
Halloween or Happy Ramadam is not forcing it down your throat. I would
just call it being polite and respectful of any given faith. So how the
    **** can it be offensive?

Religion, or lack of it isn't the case in this thread. It is Kate being
    ANTAGONISTIC!!!

But it is! It's only and always 'Happy Christmas', and completely ignoring
other faiths. Is it really polite to utterly ignore anyone else's religion?
Halloween is a good example, falls on the same day as Samhain, the great
midsummer solstice (southern hemisphere) Wiccan festival. What's worse is
that the Christians don't even really celebrate All Hallows Eve (Hallow
E'en -> Halloween), they turned it into a great greedy grab for sweets with
    a veiled threat of tricks!

Well, using Knode is sorta agnosticism, moving away from the great bowing
down to the Beast of Redmond! :-D

    Just like you, eh?

Oh, and it's Chanukkah not 'Honaker', and tonight we light the second
    candle.

Still no timezone information. Since you've translated Simon's
    "Sat, 16 Dec 2006 23:01:54 +1100" as "25 Kislev 5767 22:01",
are we to take it that Kislev is really Queensland-centric?

Knode's one failing, IMHO, is its incurable habit of setting
follow-ups to the first NG only in any reply to a cross-posted
article. Eternal vigilance is required when using it.

Umm no, it's Jewish. Only the time is local to QLD.

Well, for one thing it means that those reading only
aus.comms.mobile (and not aus.comms) will have missed the
replies to your posts in this thread (except for mine).

Interesting, never bothered me before, since generally I was on both groups
being posted to. But here I'm not on aus.comms.

    Followups now set to both!
