Has anyone used a Boost phone as a laptop tether? I'm guessing the charge is at 25 cents a minute, not included in the 'unlimited' WAP. What kind of speeds did you see? Was it usable? What kind of phone do you have?
Thanks a bunch!

Re: Boost Mobile as a laptop modem?
Yes, I just got my Boost Mobile Motorola 776 to work as one. The directions are at my website, on my blog, FantasyFreddy.com/cblog. I posted the instructions a few days ago. Need not download any software or anything. It works, seamlessly, over Bluetooth, at 115Kbps. Not bad for google, facebook, nytimes, gmail, etc., but slow for browsing! Enjoy, and good luck! Just get the $50/month plan w/ unlimited internet and voice and you can talk and surf at the same time!! It works!!!!!
Enjoy!!

Re: BoosT-Mobile as a laptop modem?
I have an i776 and have been looking for the way to do this for months. Last night I came across something in Howard Forums. I downloaded the driver and installed it, plugged in my phone and connected to the slow internet. I copied the forum for you all. Also if you download the new Opera 10 and turn on the TURBO the slow internet gets a little faster or you can google "opera mini on a pc" for directions on how to use the phone browser on you pc which makes the internet the fastest. Here is the post:
Download Motorola's USB drive:
motorola.com/consumers/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=bda09ec8009a0210VgnVCM1000008806b00aRCRD
Then plug in the phone via USB and let Windows recognize it.
Then set up a new Network Connection, using Dial-Up Connection. Select the Motorola iDEN modem from the pulldown menu and hit next. Use #777 as the phone number, leave everything else blank.
When you try to connect it should just work.

Re: Boost Mobile as a laptop modem?
With boost mobile unlimited plan (currently $60 + shrinkage for Blackberry plans) you can use your Blackberry as a modem on your PC.
You can also do it via Bluetooth, although I have had limited success personally the first times I tried with Bluetooth.
You can find out how to do this here:Using your Boost Mobile Blackberry As A ModemLast edited by tdubz87; 06-12-2011 at 03:48 PM.
