    They both suck.

Unless you're talking about the 2nd Generation Eclipse. GS-X...

Buncha rice rocket cars....but if i were to choose, i would choose the civic just because the gas mileage is somewhat better...

but mitsubishi does have one of the best backed warranty....but id rather go with honda civic.....

3rd gen Eclipse is complete crap.. 2nd gen embodied a decent amount sport in it, with AWD, and the 1st gen (even though it didn't look so good) was an absolutely AWESOME performer, and was a true sports car. Held quite a bit of potential too. Just take a look at the video below. First generation Eclipse running some 8 seconds in the 1/4 mile. Pretty crazy considering he's running 42.3 lbs boost along with 250 shot.

Anyway, to answer the question, eclipse is way better if you're looking for a sporty car. But, if you're looking for something that will last, and just need a car to get you around, Honda's superior build quality wins this competition.

OMG 8 second eclipse....that is one crazy driver putting 250 shots of nos....

Go wit the words of mah man igaboj....eclipse for sporty and civic for the everday go to work and come back home to wife kinda car.....

never knew an eclipse can actually push or even go near 8 seconds.....only if Paul Walker had that car in Fast and the Furious...then his car wouldve stayed with him, win the cash, earn some respect, and end the story.....ow well

Just remember... the new eclipses that look like this: suck beyond belief. They're slow, they break down, handle like crap, and have no potential.

The 2nd generation eclipses are significantly better; if they have All wheel drive.

And the 1st generation ones, otherwise known as the ugly ones; are absolute monsters.

Hehe.. the new one.. weighs even more than the current one, and handles more like a boat.

However.. what might be considered a plus, is the new, larger engine, which gets around 260 HP. But with FWD?? Not so great of a combination.

I agree DSM's are great for speed and all out drag, but they aren't known for their reliablity, they don't turn as well as others.

3G's shouldn't carry the Eclipse name, how do you go from a Turbo AWD monster to a prissy FWD boat =(

Since I have a first gen turbo AWD, i'm gonna say eclipse, but the new ones are an ugly disappointment

My 2nd car was a Honda Civic. I drove it as hard as it could go for 120,000 miles never any problems. I would pick any honda product over mitsubishi.

I would give anything to find a first gen Eclipse GSX or Talon Tsi in nice shape. The 2nd gen Eclipses were to heavy, and I don't really care for the styling of the newest ones.

If I could alter your list I would definetly recommend a Neon SRT-4 over the other two, if you are like me and speed is the only thing that really matters.
