Re: LG VX10000 Voyager Review
I have the Voyager and let me just say that I LOVE it.
I don't want flashy, sexy, blah blah blah for my phone. I want FUNCTIONALITY and the Voyager comes through in that area.
That being said, I have one major issue that I'd like to address: I have the Voyager (vx10000) and my girlfriend has the vx8100. I have found that I am unable to send her "enhanced" text messages -- I'm not even talking about picture, video or audio messages, merely messages that are over 160 characters long.
What happens is this: The text messages take forever to get through, and when they do get through I receive a message back saying "Message delivered to [her phone number] as plain text. Destination does not support enhanced messaging service." This would be fine except I know for a fact that her phone DOES support enhanced messaging. I previously had the same phone as her, the 8100, and we sent many many long messages to each other (as well as picture/video/audio messages). We both have unlimited "IN" texting plans and so this really shouldn't be an issue, but it is. What do you suggest I do?
I'm planning on taking the phone in tomorrow to update the firmware, which I haven't done as of yet. My girlfriend has never updated the firmware on her phone either, so we may do that as well. Not too hopeful about those approaches being the solution though, as neither of the firmware updates for our phones seem to address anything about messaging. Anyone else having this problem? Any thoughts?

Re: LG VX10000 Voyager Review
Appearance
First, the phone is a dual screen phone. Two 400x240 widescreen LCDs drive the unit, and both the internal and external screens measure 2.81" diagonally. While Verizon might like to qualify the screens as "large" in their advertising documentation, they're not the largest screens on the market in mobile phones. The screen quality is very good for a cell phone; the screen is bright and clear with a resolution of 166 pixels per inch.
Below the touch screen are three buttons - Send, Clear/Voice Command and End. Having a voice command button on the front is a nice touch, and it is very convenient. However, I was disappointed in seeing that something as simple as "Goto My Music" wouldn't work because it's not in the list of preset actions.

Re: LG VX10000 Voyager Review
First....your going to have to change plans from whatever your on now, to the National Plan.
Then, you have three options on using the internet on your phone. Either you get the standard plan, in which case you pay $1.99 per megabyte of use. (viewing about somewhere around 50 to 100 pages).
Or you can stay with the standard plan, and buy the V-Cast Package - $15 a month. This gives you unlimited internet access, ESPN, and some other things. I personally use this one, as I don't need all the stuff on the next package.
The next National Calling plan includes unlimited internet, unlimited V-Cast, Unlimited Navigator, Email....just about everything they have to offer. I can't remember the price, but it's up there.
Before you get into this, you should really do some serious checking into all this.

Re: LG VX10000 Voyager Review
I've had a voyager since december and have found it's more probs than it's worth.
I changed my font to LG Script and now it's pretty much a chunk of metal in my pocket. I've had 3 so far, the last one being in less than 30 days. If you're looking to personalize it, don't bother with the voyager. it'll just crash constantly on you and make you very irritable.
I'm looking into getting a PDA replacement instead. I'm so disappointed!
