Re: How to Unlock Your BlackBerry 9000 Bold - remote unlock code

i work with the cell phoen company fido as customer service,
within unlocking the phone yourself it is considered unlocking through a third party which can void the warranty on the phone as unlocked phones are not gaurenteed to work on any service provider you are with.

it is a possibility the warranty will not void, i do know with fido it does however.
but within the unlocked phones, it is not gaurenteed to work on any provider you go to. your data (internet) may not work correctly, and even if you manually enter the APNs the provider gives you it is still not gaurenteed to work correctly.

i just though i'd let people know this as i do have the experience with explaining this to customers everyday.
before unlocking your device, make sure to contact your provider to be sure of how well their services work with unlocked devices, ask them the following:
-is it gaurenteed to work with your provider while unlocked?
-are there apn's that you have to manually enter to have certain services work correctly?
-will unlocking my device myself void the manufacturer warranty on my phone?
-are you guys able to prove who or how my phone was unlocked?
-if unlocking through a third party damages my phone i can not have it replaced, but if i do it through you guys is there any replacements if an error occurs?
-is there any other information i should know within unlocking my device?

just a tip for some people, but i do reccomend doing this before jumping into the conclusion of unlocking your phones, its not as easy as some people think it is.
