So, anyone here with a horrid Razr story. Like you dropped it in the pool or you sat on it (which I do all the time, and it's fine) or it got stolen. Or you tried modding it and it won't go back cuz you didn't make a backup like you should have. Or have you had it stolen, and in some miraculous turn of events superman comes out of the Imax 3d screen and gives you your Razr back...Well, you get the point.

Re: Horrid Razr Stories!?
I have the Silver T-Mobile Razr and just sitting on the back of a truck bed for a concert, the screen is cracked to the point where I can barely read half of any text messages. Is there anything I can do to get it replaced since I do not have insurance? I can still use the phone, but there are black streaks/blotches all over my screen.

Re: Horrid Razr Stories!?
well, check this out, I'm sure it will help. http://www.mark-world.tv/motorola/pd...e_dust_out.pdf
I don't know where to get the screen cover tho. But, I don't know if your cover is messed up, or your actual screen. If you think it's your actual screen, then this should be of help... http://www.mark-world.tv/motorola/pd...Razr_apart.pdf And, you should be able to get a new lcd for about 45 dollars, which isn't too bad, I bought my Razr for 130, and got an 80 mail in rebate, and I'm putting that money away, so if my Razr has a problem, I can buy a replacement part for it.
Of course, you need adobe acrobat reader to read those.Live life to the fullest. Even if full is over 3.75 a gallon! (Wow, I wrote this two years ago, and that is when I was paying 2.35 a gallon, I now pay 3.50!)

Here is my experience ...
My wife was cleaning her nail polish using nail polish remover. The bottle tipped and spilled all over my RAZR keypad.
She wiped it off, but now it would not switch on. Gone, a nice phone lost to beauty
Removed the battery and left the phone open for about 2 days. Tried again, and Eureka! it turned on. Some keys were not working. Removed battery and let it sit out for another day. Viola, everything is back to working order.
Slight discoloration (blackish) on the keypad, but it works perfectly.

Re: Horrid Razr Stories!?
I am seriously thinking about buying insurance.
Insurance costs $6 a month. Is it worth it? After all i got the phone for free from the retailer?
I guess for those who have a tendency to drop their cell phone, lose it or misplace it, it makes sense. In 7 years of using a cell phone, this is the first time it has a happenned.
Funny thing is that after so many years, i managed to damage 2 phones in 2 days. I got my slvr the day before the mail polish incident happenned. The day in the afternoon we were driving to visit friends, a stop for tea, one open cup in my car cup holder. I take out my cell phone from its holster since I cant sit comfortable and drive with it in its holster, and splash it drops right into the open tea cup, like diving into a swimming pool. It was still on, but i could see that the tea has gone into the phone, the screen kind of showed something inside like a patch. Took out the battery, cleaned the phone fully (the white paper/spot was still white) and put it back, it would not turn on. Kept it open to dry. Next day, put the battery back and it turned on right away without having to press the power key. Now I find everything works except the "End" key or the power button. So i can make a call but cannot end a call.
Luckily the retailer replaced it for free.

Re: Horrid Razr Stories!?
Just a question. If you buy a phone clip from a company, and ur phone drops while using that clip, will they be faulted for that, ie, they have to repair the phone for you?

Re: Horrid Razr Stories!?
You may have to prove or show a faulty clip that was the reason for your phone falling out of the clip and into the water. Could be difficult.
