The GSM network is getting better, they have added a lot of things that will make ATT a company to watch out for. They have stuff like tracking other ATT users. I know my parents will love that, they can locate where i am at anytime if i allow them too.

I've recently upgraded to the GSM service, and so far I have had no complaints. I have a T616, and even when the coverage meter is at 1 - 2, the reception is still clear.

I really don't like the tracking feature, it sounds like it could be misused if placed in the wrong hands.

But the good thing is that you can disable it...

In order to use the trace feature the person being traced has to agree to report their location to the requesting party. You cant just enter in anyones phone number and know where they are - they have to actually agree to it on their phone.

The T616 is pretty good. AT&T is opening new markets all the time to increase the GSM coverage. It is still in its baby stages, but you have to realize its a slow process. TDMA has been here for 20 odd years where as GSM has a whole 2 years. Sooooooooo be patient its comin.....

I've had ATT since they had the unlimited plan (about a year) and the quality of the service really depends on the phone u have too. I've had the sony ericsson and the quality of the reception was crap, but now i have the nokia 6200 and everyt5hing is all good.

I got a SE T306, and my signal sucks is there anything i can do other than change my phone?

Find out if it's the phone (which since it's one of those SE's, it probably is ) or your service.
If you're still within the first 30 days of your contract, go back to the place you got it from, if you can and get another phone.
