    Re: XP and Loving it

XP is really the way to go. There are plenty of reasons on why not to go vista.

    Re: XP and Loving it

I am allways reluctant to install a new OS, I get used to them and hate change. I like my XP64 pro and like nicky131 will not upgrade untill I have to.
I had chance to get Vista at work on a new comp, thought about it but naw I hate change.

I wish i still had xp but im using vista on a toshiba laptop. My other laptop has it but the hinges broke off and i can't install or download anything on the old toshiba laptop without the desktop choking itself to death and I can't even restore it cause I have so much crap on it.

Speaking of XP i just saw on the microsoft site that support for W2K has been extended until 2010. Now that was a decent operating system for MS.

    Re: XP and Loving it

Interesting Topic i have xp and am sick of it reason being is that its not worth the money you pay for it and alot of trojans and malware are aimed at microsoft systems as mark stated about Linux fantastic op system abit tricky at the start to use but a little persistence and a willingness to learn you would be amazed at what linux distros can offer and yes the great thing is its all free and the support for linux is outstanding and as for vista im not keen to go to it but i do have friends that use it and they dont have any probs with it they swear by it once you get used to registering certain files and sometimes installing in safe mode you can get around certain hiccups, as with linux i can say about vista patience is a virtue ....

I'm staying with XP. Vista is too much of a resource hog.

Tbh, I've never seen what the problem with Vista is.

But meh, I'm not really good with all the techincal stuff, so maybe I'm just ignorant of it's problems or something.

Works fine for me though. (Y)

    Re: XP and Loving it

I'm sorry but everyone who is all about XP this and XP that, or I heard that Vista is full of bugs blah blah blah its all crap. Seriously don't assume your gossip is correct about Vista what you hear from your friends isn't necessarily right. Service pack 1 fixed a ton of problems with Vista while yes its a resource hog, you can turn that stuff off if you google the correct website or you know a thing or two about computers. While yes XP was a solid OS it did also have its problems when it first came out as Vista did. People just don't want to change from old habits we know somehitng so good and its became so accustom we don't want to change. There are flaws to XP though, XP doesn't support DirectX 10 which "gamers" will need with newer games coming out. Also for laptops you are almost forced to go with Vista due to drivers not being found unless you pay someone a pretty penny to search foriegn places to find these. Just get used to Vista it makes things quicker, don't complain and be lazy just DO IT. I mean you have to change eventually why not be up to par on things before the next person.

lol nicely spoken xD Yeah I love Vista, XP is a pain in the ass for me. I find Vista to be easier to navigate and stuff. I loose so much stuff because i can't find it in XP but it is easier to find files with Vista...lol I love Vista
    What?
