iPad 2 Review In Real Time

Its an Apple product, that alone makes the purchase a event...lol

The first day/hour it went on sale, i purchased it at Best Buy, the lines at Apple stores were insane... later that night i had two people approach me in a public place who notice my iPad 2 and ask how i liked it.

ok... so how does it feel in regard to being thiner and and weighing less than the 1.

You can hold it in your hand effortless, some may say it feels cheap, but those people still think like the old days when weight meant quality, and it still does with some stuff, but not in tablets. A tablet needs to be mobile, you don't want to carry around a brick in your pocket-book or back-pack, the 2 is thin and its light.... its made for mobility.

The buttons have a little different feel to them, their pretty the same as the 1, but with the 2 having angel sides instead of a square design, the buttons protrude a little more on the 2. Because of this i found when having the 2 in a horizontal position the button leaned against my body allowing the volume to adjust higher or lower on its own... no big deal.

The new cover design (39$) is held on by magnets, roll the cover back and your ipad screen awakes, the cover can be rolled back and can become a stand to raise one end of the ipad allowing for your ipad to be on a slant for typing... and/or view the screen, and to erect the ipad to display the screen to view videos/photos . The angle comes in handy when typing/navigating, using the ipad laying flat on a table/desk i found to be uncomfortable.

The cover has many colors to choose from depending on who you are and the statement you want to make. The cover protects the screen when transporting the ipad, but i was never one to buy something that looks great.... and then cover it so you can't see it... a case or cover for transporting, yes... but then expose the ipad when in use, yes... this what the smart cover does. What's great also it that the cover can be remove easily by detaching the magnets, or just roll the cover back into a stand, or you can flip the cover back flat and it protects the back of the ipad... cool

So the 2 feels great and thats the first thing i did when strangers approach me to ask about my ipad, they held it in their hand... their reaction.......WOW.

They increased the Ram from 256 to 512, and added a A-5 processor... so how does it perform...

Let me say this... its fast, it doesn't lag... and it navigates smoothly. im not gonna get into how many seconds or milliseconds it takes to load a page or application, its fast and smooth man...

Multitasking... they say yes... but i say no...
The iPad can't multitask because it can only display one application at a time, you have to come out of one application, and then open or switch to another. Now when switching Apps, the App will freeze on the last page/location of the app your on, then you can open another App, you can then switch back and forth from App to App, but only one App can be viewed at a time. On your laptop/PC you can open ten windows on your screen, and work from and with the ten windows, and view multi windows at one time... that's multi tasking

The camera and video how do they perform....

I found that you need good lighting, low lighting creates a snowy photo/video. Here are some example photos and videos taken inside and outside under good lighting conditions. Their not award winning stuff but it shows the photo camera and video camera are sufficient.

The Smart Cover... 39.00 polyurethane... it comes in leather approx 70.00.
What's great about the cover is, if your using your ipad 2, then flip the cover over the screen, it will shut off the screen, then when you roll the cover off the screen the screen awakes and is unlocked.

What is that Verizon tower thing you have in the picture? A network extender? I've seen network extenders but that one looks unique...haha

I forgot Verizon has landline services, including DSL, in some areas...did not occur to me since we do not have it here...ha
