iPhone 5 dock connector...smaller than the original iPhone dock connector

By now, you may be already tired of all the rumors of the upcoming new iPhone (iPhone 5). Just a week or two ago, we heard that production of the iPhone 5 had not yet begun and now we are hearing, according to DigiTimes, production has already begun. Which is is? has it or hasn't it?

Another bit of news that we have, and this may not be a rumor, is that Apple has 'shrunk' the new iPhone dock connector. This 'shrinking dock' news is said to have two reliable sources that "are familiar with the matter."

To give you an idea of how small the new iPhone 5 dock connector will be, Apple's docks are now 30-pin units. The iPhone 5 dock connector will only be 19- pin unit, which has been reported to allow the 3.5mm headset jack to be placed at the bottom of the iPhone 5.
