During the past several weeks, a very high number of leaked images with the HTC One Mini have emerged, giving us confidence that the handset's actual announcement should not be too far away either. Well, a large number of leaks are oftentimes a good sign that the official launch approaches, and this time was no different either.

HTC has now made the One Mini official, announcing everything there is to know about this device, aside from its price.

In terms of hardware, the Mini packs a 4.3 inch 720 x 1280 display it features a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, an Adreno 305 graphics chip and 1 GB of RAM. There are 16 GB of internal storage on-board but if you're looking for ways and means to expand, unfortunately the Mini does not feature an SD card slot. The device is being powered by a 1,800 mAh battery which should be plenty, given the gadget's overall specs.

In the multimedia department the HTC mid-range device packs an UltraPixel camera with a sensor size of 1/3" complemented by a 1.6 MP secondary camera, and much like the HTC One flagship, the Mini also features BeatsAudio and front-facing speakers.

Software-wise the One Mini arrives with Android 4.2 out of the box featuring the latest version of Sense user interface. This means that owners of the handset will benefit from features such as BlinkFeed.

As for design, well, the image above says pretty much everything. The Mini boasts the same design language as the One flagship and from afar you can't really notice any big differences between the two, aside of course from the overall size. The good news is that, unlike what previous leaks and rumors have suggested, the Mini actually arrives with a metal case, and not a plastic one. That's definitely a big plus, and it's very refreshing to see a mid-range smartphone being built with a bit more attention to details and higher quality materials. The Mini is also lighter than the One, weighting merely 122 grams and measuring 9.25 mm in thickness. Much like the original flagship, the smaller sibling will also arrive in one of two colors: Stealth Black and Glacier Silver.

If you feel that the One Mini is the way to go, then you should be happy to learn that HTC is planning on releasing the gadget in August. However, only certain markets will get the Mini next month, but availability will expand to a global scale by the end of September.
