Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 – Available For Pre-Order in UK – Price and Other Details Inside

A few months ago, rumors regarding two new Samsung "phablets" have emerged, though not many other hardware details besides the size of their screens have surfaced at that time. Some people thought that these devices will replace the Note series, but that's definitely not the case. No manufacturer in his right mind would end a successful smartphone line-up.

In any case, the Galaxy Mega is not a mystery anymore. This series consists in two smartphone, one of which features a gargantuan 6.3 inch display. Back in April, Samsung has announced that this 6.3 inch beast will go on sale in Europe and Russia, sometime in May.

As for UK, well, the retailer which goes by the name of Clove has now started offering the device for pre-order. The gadget is accompanied by a price tag of £459.99 (evidently unlocked / SIM-free), and the expected release time-frame is "July". Unfortunately, no exact launch day has been given by the aforementioned retailer.

In case you're wondering what you'll get for the sum of £459.99, then the answer is -as we've already established) a 6.3 inch display boasting a resolution of 720 x 1280 and a pixel density of 233 pixels per inch, a Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor with a frequency of 1.7 GHz, an Adreno 305 graphics chip, 1.5 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage expandable by up to 64 GB with the help of a microSD card. There's also Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box with the TouchWiz user interface on top, and a 3,200 mAh battery that should keep that enormous display up and running for a decent amount of time. Last but not least, in the media department the Mega 6.3 boasts an 8 MP camera at the back with LED flash and HDR, as well as a 1.9 MP front-facing camera.
