Sony Xperia P balanciert, um Android 4.0 Update bald erhalten

In case you own the Sony Xperia P dann sollten Sie erfreut sein zu erfahren, dass der Hersteller plant, auf das mit Spannung erwartete Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich-Update schon bald starten.

According to Sony Mobile India and their latest Facebook entries, ICS for the Xperia P will start hitting the waves on August 19th and the deployment will continue until August 25th. Unfortunately the official announcement does not explain clearly whether or not this particular roll-out is expected only in India or in other countries and regions as well.

Fact of the matter is, this roll-out should definitely arrive on a global level sooner rather than later because the Xperia P is one of Sony's handsets to arrive with Gingerbread out of the box this year, alongside a promise that Ice Cream Sandwich will be available by the end of the summer. That being said, it would make sense if the post mentioned above is referring to a wider range of variants, and not only those in India.

Also, since the Xperia P is quite similar with the Sony Xperia U and Sola we hope that these other two devices will receive Android 4.0 soon.

We're going to keep an eye out on the Sony Xperia P and Ice Cream Sandwich. Until then, let us know whether or not you're still waiting for the official release or you have decided to go with a custom ROM a long time ago.
