Sprint's Samsung Galaxy Victory has been released on the aforementioned carrier's network last year, in September. At the time of the handset's launch, the Victory was packing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, yet the time for Android 4.1 has arrived. That said, if you do happen to own this particular gadget then here's what you can expect.

About a month after an Android 4.1.2 leaked ROM has surfaced on the web, Sprint has now started to release the official Android 4.1.2 update on the Victory. The update is apparently being rolled-out over the air, so head down to the Software Updates menu on your device by accessing: Settings > About Phone, and see whether or not Jelly Bean is waiting for you.

Once you apply the update you'll have access to Google Now and you should also notice a boost in performance and smoothness thanks to Project Butter. Other than these Android-specific improvements, you'll also get Swype, better notifications which now display SMS text and MMS photos you've received right in the notification area, expandable notifications (pinch to expand or collapse), text-to-speech, offline voice typing support, the ability to create and manage Google+ events, indoor walking directions in Google Maps, and you'll also have access to Zagat reviews and ratings from within Google Maps.

That's pretty much it, but if you were thinking about this gadget when it appeared last year, yet you were looking specifically for a Jelly Bean device then here's a quick reminder of what you can get for your buck. Sprint's Victory packs a 4 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800 and a pixel density of 233, a dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960 CPU clocked at 1.2 GHz, an Adreno 225 GPU, 1 GB of RAM, 4 GB of storage expandable by up to 32 GB via microSD, a 5 MP camera on the back with LED flash, a 1.3 MP front-facing shooter and a 2,100 mAh battery under the hood.

Feel free to let us know if you've been able to update your Galaxy Victory to Android 4.1.
