    Can anybody specifically a service technician advise as a percentage or ratio the probability of a brand new unlocked phone becoming defective or malfunctioning within 12 mths after it has been tested. Provided it has been well taken care off??

    I doubt you'll find data specifically on phones that have been unlocked. The fact that the phone is unlocked should have nothing to do with the life of the phone though.
