I have never seen such slow service ever! The 3g is killing me. Lately the customer service has NOT been friendly and hasnt been able to help what so ever.

Does anybody ever have any problems with dropped calls or anything with Sprint?

Im thinking about switching to Verizon.

Dropped calls all depend on coverage in your area. I would check the coverage maps with any provider you plan to move to before signing a contract. Also keep in mind that most providers have a 15 day grace period, so if you sign up with them you can get out or change phones within 15 days.

Maybe I'm a bit biased but I've been happy with Verizon for about 10 years now. What kind of phone are you looking for? (you cant use a Sprint phone on anything but sprint - same with Verizon)

I've been with Verizon for years and swapped from sprint. Although there are things I dislike about Verizon you can't deny their coverage. I have great service and their customer service has always treated me well.

verizon is the one to get for non urban areas. Their system allows for greater tower range, so they can cover more area with fewer towers than other carriers. They're not even remotely cheap though. At least as expensive as ATT Which is historically the leader in high prices/bad service. It's usually about a 20% premium over the urban centered carriers like TMO and Sprint. Sprint 3g is not great, but their 4g is awesome. It's 100% dependant on where you live and where you go. City mice like me who care about what they pay generally go with tMO. Their customer service is good and they have plans that don't jerk you around. In the long long run, Sprint has the potential to be far and away the best carrier bcause of it;s history.

The SPR in sprint stand for Southern Pacific Railroad. That means wired network right of way, which is literally unbuyable. Sometimes it's good to be a 120 year old company. Sprnt will always have better station to station bandwidth than everyone else. That hasn't so much come into play yet, but as congestion keeps ramping up it is bound to. This is one reason ATT wanted SPRINT so bad. They lost their right of ways in the Ma Bell anti-trust case of the 80's and they know what can be done with that kind of thing.

One option would be to figure out which pay-asyou-go carrier in your area uses the verizon network. That at least gives you an out if Sprint or TMO unleash 4g in your area.

I don't blame you for wanting to drop Sprint. I have been with Verizon for about 12 years and while it costs more, I don't have all the hassles with service or customer service that my friend's have with other providers.

Sprint caters to the big cities. I love when they say that they have the biggest 4G network when they only have 4G service bigger metropolitan areas. If you live in a rural area you are much better off with Verizon.

Keep in mind that text messaging (apart from mms) doesn't use data like 3g or 4g. However, that says something since most of the time you'll have a voice signal before you have a data signal. It's usually not the other way around.

But yes, AT&T & Verizon have the best 4g coverage. AT&T is a little behind Verizon. They both use different frequencies as well.

Another option is to update your phone: settings, PRL & profile.
I has Sprint in Houston the 4G is finally pretty regular.
However in Dallas where I'm working the 4G is very spotty, and the 3G is lame.
