I read an article about 3D printers that suggests we may be able to print and build our own cell phones in the somewhat near future. Would you do this? I think it is an interesting prospect anyway.

Was it this article? Build Your Own Cell Phone - ABC News

I would do it, but just as a novelty. To actually put the phone into use doesn't sound practical just yet.

I wouldn't even try even if it's made available. It sounds like a good idea, but I prefer buying a great working phone with features that fits my need. If I build my own, I wouldn't want to run into issues with it later and not know how to fix it.

Tavenger, thanks for posting the link, I think that is the article I read. I wouldn't think that you would have to fix it if it broke, you could just print yourself a new one.
