Install HTC Sync Manager (Windows PC):

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your computer
  2. Visit HTC Sync Manager Overview | HTC United States
  3. Download HSM and install the app on your PC
  4. Connect the Desire 828 to your computer via USB
  5. Once the phone connects, it should appear in HTC Sync Manager

Transfer Data from an iPhone via HSM and iTunes:

  1. Connect the Desire 828 and iPhone to your computer via USB
  2. Open HTC Sync Manager
  3. In HSM, click “Home” > “Transfer & Backup”
  4. Click “Get Started”
  5. Open iTunes on the PC and back up the data on your iPhone
  6. In HSM, click “Next” and load the iPhone backup file
  7. Click “OK” and select the items you want to transfer from the iPhone backup file
  8. Click “Start”

Copy / Remove Media Files via HSM:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Desire 828 and PC
  2. Launch HSM and click “Home”
  3. If necessary, switch between internal and external storage
  4. Click “Sync Settings” > “Files” > “Sync Settings”
  5. Click “Sync documents from the following location on your PC”
  6. Click “Add” and select the files you want to sync
  7. Click “Refresh”

Export Media Files to a PC via HSM:

  1. Connect the Desire 828 to your computer via USB
  2. Launch HSM and click “Home”
  3. Click “Sync Settings” and select between the phone’s external or internal storage
  4. To export photos and videos, click “Gallery” > “Settings”
  5. To export audio files, click “Music” > “Settings” > “Copy all music from phone”
  6. Click “Refresh”

Sync Playlists and Data

NOTE: With HTC Sync Manager you can sync bookmarks, events, and other data types between your phone and PC. On a Windows computer, you can sync data from Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Outlook 2003 or newer. On a Mac computer, you can use HSM to sync Apple Calendar, Google Chrome, Contacts, Address Book, Outlook 2011 for Mac, and iCal.

Sync Data:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the Desire 828 and computer
  2. Launch HSM
  3. Click “Home” > “Sync Settings”
  4. Tick the boxes associated with the items you want to sync
  5. To change the sync settings, click “Settings”
  6. Click “Refresh” to begin the syncing process

Sync Playlists from iTunes or Windows Media Player:

  1. Connect the Desire 828 to your PC via USB
  2. Launch HSM and click “Home”
  3. Click “Sync Settings” and select the desired location to sync data to
  4. Click “Music” > “Settings” > “Sync selected playlist”
  5. Select the playlist you want to sync and click “Refresh”
