    NOTE: For instructions on how to back up app data on the HTC 10 evo, visit this thread.

    Restore App Data:

    1. Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
    2. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
    3. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
    4. Tap “Backup and reset” > “Restore from HTC Backup”
    5. Follow the on-screen prompts to select a backup account and complete the restore

    Restore Contacts from a Google Account:

    1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
    2. Tap “Accounts & Sync” and sign in with the Google account containing the backup contacts
    3. Log in with the Google account containing your contacts backup
    4. Go to the account’s sync settings and ensure “Contacts” is checked
    5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync all”

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the HTC 10 evo and computer
    2. Enable “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC
    4. Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder they originate from
    5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port

    Restore Media Files form a Mac PC:

    1. Connect the HTC 10 evo to your computer via USB
    2. Turn on “File Transfer (MTP)” / “Media device (MTP)” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open the File Finder on the Mac and use the Finder to locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
    4. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
    5. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the device’s virtual drive from the desktop and into the “Trash can”
    6. You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
