NOTE: For instructions on how to back up app data on the HTC 10 evo, visit this thread.
Restore App Data:
- Ensure the phone is connected to an active Wi-Fi network
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Go to Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup and reset > Restore from HTC Backup
- Follow the on-screen prompts to select a backup account and complete the restore
Restore Contacts from a Google Account:
- Open Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts & Sync and sign in with the Google account containing the backup contacts
- Log in with the Google account containing your contacts backup
- Go to the accounts sync settings and ensure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync all
Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a USB connection between the HTC 10 evo and computer
- Enable File Transfer (MTP) / Media device (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folder they originate from
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files form a Mac PC:
- Connect the HTC 10 evo to your computer via USB
- Turn on File Transfer (MTP) / Media device (MTP) when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and use the Finder to locate the media file backups on the Mac storage
- Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory or the folder(s) they originate from
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage by dragging and dropping the devices virtual drive from the desktop and into the Trash can
- You can now safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
