Applying a Master Reset from the Settings Menu:

WARNING: Master resetting your device will result in loss of personal data, stored on the internal storage. This includes images, apps, downloaded content, contacts, ringtones etc. Keep in mind that master resetting your smartphone will not affect content stored on the SIM and SD card.

  1. If necessary, backup the data stored on your device. To learn how, visit this link
  2. While on the home screen, press the "Menu" button
  3. Tap "System settings"
  4. Tap "Backup & reset" under "Personal"
  5. Tap "Factory data reset" > "Reset phone" > "Erase everything"
  6. A warning notice will pop-up. Review it and tap "OK" to complete the operation

NOTE: Do not remove the battery while the phone is resetting!

Master Resetting Using Hardware Keys:

WARNING: Once you master reset your device, you will lose all personal data located on the phone storage, including custom ringtones, media files, contacts, downloaded content etc. Data stored on the SIM or SD card is not affected.

  1. If necessary, back up your data using the guide found on this link
  2. Turn off your smartphone
  3. Press and hold the "Power", "Home" and "Volume down" buttons at the same time. Keep pressing the buttons for about 8 seconds
  4. Once the "Factory Hard Reset" screen appears, release the buttons
  5. Press "Power" to confirm that you wish to reset the device
  6. The smartphone will now apply the reset and reboot in normal mode

Enabling Safe Mode:

Safe mode is a great way to get rid of malicious / problematic applications that prevent you from uninstalling them.. Third party apps are disabled in Safe Mode. To reboot in safe mode:

  1. While on the home screen, press and hold the "Power" button
  2. Tap and hold "Power off"
  3. In the "Reboot to safe mode" screen, tap "OK"
  4. Your device will reboot, and the "Safe mode" label should appear in the bottom-left corner
  5. Go to the "Settings" menu and access the list of "Apps"
  6. Uninstall the app that causes problems
  7. To turn off safe mode, press and hold the "Power" button, tap "Power off and restart" > "OK"
