Resetting the Device from the Settings Menu:

WARNING! Master resetting your smartphone will result in loss of personal data stored on the internal memory. This includes your custom ringtones, media files, contacts, downloaded content and apps. Data stored on the SD and SIM cards are not affected.

  1. Press the "Menu" button while viewing the home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" > "General"
  3. Under "Personal", tap "Backup & reset" > "Factory data reset"
  4. Tap "Reset phone" > "Erase everything"
  5. Review the pop-up warning message, and tap "OK"

Master Resetting Using Hardware Buttons:

WARNING! Once you factory reset your device, you will lose all personal data stored on the phone's internal memory, including apps, contacts, media files etc. Data stored on the SIM and SD cards are not deleted.

Use the hard reset method only if your smartphone can't apply the factory reset via the settings menu (as described above)

  1. Turn off your smartphone and make sure it's not connected to another device / PC via USB
  2. Press and hold the "Power" and "Volume down" buttons simultaneously, for about 8 seconds
  3. When the "LG" logo shows up, release and immediately re-hold the "Power" button
  4. You can release both the "Volume down" and "Power" button when the "Factory hard reset" screen appears
  5. Press the "Power" button to confirm the hard reset, and the process will commence. NOTE: if you want to cancel, press one of the volume buttons

Entering Safe Mode:

Safe mode is a great way to get rid of malicious applications that would prevent you from disabling or uninstalling them when booted in normal mode. In safe mode, all third party applications are disabled. To enter safe mode:

  1. Press and hold the "Power" button
  2. Tap and hold "Power off"
  3. A "Reboot to safe mode" screen should appear. Review it and tap "OK"
  4. The device will now restart, and the "Safe mode" message should appear in the bottom-left corner

To Uninstall An Application:

  1. Tap the "Menu" button from the home screen
  2. Tap "System settings" and scroll to "Device"
  3. Select "Apps" and choose the application that you want to remove
  4. Tap "Uninstall"
  5. To exit safe mode, press and hold the "Power" button, tap "Power off and restart" and then tap "OK"
