Data Backup
Backing Up Applications:
- While viewing the home screen, tap the "Apps" icon
- Tap "LG Backup"
- Review the introduction information, assuming that this is the first time opening the app
- Tap "Agree" in the "End User License Agreement" screen
- Tap "Manual backup"
- Select the desired backup location and tap "Next"
- Tap "New backup". NOTE: to overwrite a different backup file, tap "Overwrite" instead
- Enter the name for the backup file and tap "Next"
- Mark the check boxes associated with "LG Apps" and "Downloaded apps"
- Tap "Backup" > "OK"
Backing Up Contacts:
- Open the apps drawer and launch the "LG Backup" app
- Review the introduction if necessary
- Tap "Agree" in the "EULA" pop-up
- Select "Manual backup"
- Choose a backup location and tap "Next"
- Tap "New backup", or "Overwrite" if you wish to replace an existing backup
- Type in a name for the backup file and tap "Next"
- Mark the "Personal data" check box and tap "Backup"
- Tap "OK"
Backing Up Media Files Using a Windows Computer:
- Connect the LG VOLT to your computer using the USB cable
- Tap "Media sync (MTP)" on the smartphone when prompted
- In the AutoPlay window on your computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Navigate to where the media files are stored on your smartphone
- Copy the desired files, and paste them in the backup location on your PC's HDD
- Once the transfer is done, click "Safely Remove Hardware" from the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- You can now disconnect your smartphone from the computer
Restoring Data
Restoring Applications:
- While viewing the home screen, tap "Apps"
- Tap "Backup" > "Restore"
- Select a backup file from the list and tap "Restore"
- Review the warning information and tap "Yes"
- Your smartphone will now restart
Restoring Contacts:
- Open the apps drawer
- Tap "Backup" > "Restore"
- Choose the backup file containing your contacts
- Tap "Restore"
- Tap "Yes" in the warning information window
- Wait for your smartphone to reboot
Restoring Media Files from a Windows Computer:
- Establish a connection between the VOLT and the computer via USB
- When prompted, tap "Media sync (MTP)" on the smartphone
- From the AutoPlay window on the PC, click to "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- In a separate Windows Explorer window, locate the backed up files on your PC's hard drive
- Copy the files, and transfer them on your phone's memory
- After the files have been copied, click the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon located in the system tray
- Click "Safely Remove Mass Storage Device" > "OK"
- It's now safe to disconnect your smartphone
