Using iTunes to Transfer Contacts:

iTunes can be used to sync the contacts stored on an iPhone with a Google account. Once the first step is done, the account can be set to sync the contacts with another device. By doing so, you can easily transfer the contacts over to an Android smartphone. Keep in mind that this method requires a computer with iTunes installed and access to the Internet

  1. Launch iTunes on the computer
  2. Connect the iPhone to the PC via USB
  3. The iPhone will appear in iTunes. Click it to reveal its summary page
  4. Click the "Info" tab and mark the "Sync Contacts With" check box
  5. From the drop-down menu, choose "Google Contacts"
  6. Type in your Google account's log in details, or click "Configure" and select an existing Google account
  7. Start the syncing process by clicking "Apply"
  8. After the process is done, register the same Google account on the LG G3 S and set it so it can sync contacts with your handset

Transferring Contacts via iCloud:

The iCloud backup service can be used to export contacts in the form of a vCard, ready for Android use. In case you've used iCloud on your iPhone before, your contacts should be backed up on your iCloud account. Access it via a computer and you can easily transfer the contacts to the LG G3 S, as explained below:

  1. Open the Internet browser on your PC and go to https://www.icloud.com/
  2. Sign in with your iCloud account and click "Contacts"
  3. Mark the contacts you wish to export
  4. Click the button shaped like a cog wheel and select "Export vCard"
  5. After the VCF file is downloaded on your computer, import it via "Google Contacts"
  6. Alternatively, skip the "Google Contacts" step and instead connect the LG G3 S to your PC via USB, and copy the VCF file to the phone's "sdcard" directory. Then, launch the contacts app and import the VCF file to the phonebook using the "Import" function

Transferring Contacts via "My Contacts Backup":

My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can be used to back up and send your iPhone contacts via email. For this method you don't need access to a computer, and no other prerequisites are required on the Android device.

  1. Launch the App Store and install "My Contacts Backup" on the iPhone
  2. Open the application and tap "Backup"
  3. Once the file has been created, tap "Email" and attach the file
  4. Send the email containing the attachment to your own Gmail address
  5. On the LG G3 S, open the email and download the attached file
  6. Import the VCF file via the contacts app and the "Import" function

Using "Send Anywhere" to Transfer Contacts:

Another third party application that can be used to transfer contacts without using a computer is "Send Anywhere". This is an iOS and Android application that uses a peer-2-peer connection to transfer contacts from one device to another, even cross-platform. A computer is not required.

  1. Go to the Google Play Store and install "Send Anywhere" on the LG G3 S
  2. Visit the App Store and install the app on your iPhone too
  3. Open the application on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap "Send" > "Contacts"
  5. Select the contacts you wish to share and tap "Send"
  6. Lastly, choose a method of transfer. Tapping "Generate QR Code" on the iPhone will generate a transfer code that can be scanned with the LG G3 S' camera. Alternatively, you can start the transfer by tapping "Receive" on the LG smartphone, and typing in the randomly generated transfer code from the iPhone
