Clear an App’s Cache / Data:

NOTE: If one of your third party applications doesn’t work as intended you might be able to fix the issues by clearing the app’s cache / data.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”

  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
  5. Swipe to “All”
  6. Select the desired application
  7. Tap “Clear cache”
  8. If clearing the cache didn’t help, tap “Clear data” > “OK”

Reboot to Safe Mode and Remove an App:

  1. Turn off the phone and restart it
  2. At the “LG” logo, press and hold “Volume Down” until the phone finishes restarting
  3. Once the phone finishes restarting, you should see a “Safe Mode” label in the lower-left corner of the screen
  4. To remove an app, first go to “Settings”
  5. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Apps”
  6. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired application
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
  8. To exit safe mode, simply press and hold “Power”, and tap “Power off and restart”

Wipe the Phone’s Cache Partition:

NOTE: In case your phone doesn’t work as intended and you’re considering master resetting it, then you might want to try and solve the issues by wiping the phone’s cache partition first. This can have similar effects as a factory reset without losing all the personal data. To wipe the cache:

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  2. If necessary, tap “Menu” > “List move”
  3. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Storage”
  4. Tap “Cached data” > “OK” (it may take a while for the phone to finish calculating the data)
