Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the LG K8 to your computer using the USB cable
- At the prompt, enable Media sync (MTP), otherwise enable this feature from the notification area
- On the computer, open the File Explorer
- Using the Explorer, browse your computer storage and locate the audio files you want to use on your phone
- Copy the files and transfer them on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones and Notifications folders under Media
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Change the General Ringtone:
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings
- If necessary, tap Menu and switch to List view
- Scroll to Device and tap Sound & notification
- Tap Ringtone
- Select the ringtone you wish to use
- Tap OK
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts located on the phones internal memory or the SIM card.
- Open Contacts
- Select the desired contact
- Tap Edit in the upper-right corner (icon shaped like a pencil)
- Tap Ringtone and select the ringtone you wish to use
- Tap OK to confirm
Change the Notification Sound:
- Access the Settings menu
- If necessary, tap Menu and switch to List view
- Under Device, tap Sound & notification
- Tap Notification sound
- Select the desired notification sound and tap OK to confirm
