Enable Device Lock:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. If necessary, tap “Menu” and switch to “List view”
  4. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Lock screen”
  5. Tap “Select screen lock”
  6. Choose the desired screen lock option between “Pattern”, “Swipe”, “Password” etc.
  7. Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm your security option

Change Lock Screen Settings:

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. If necessary, switch to “List view” by pressing “Menu”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Lock screen” > “Select screen lock”
  4. Tap the desired screen lock option
  5. Enter the current PIN / password / pattern etc. to proceed
  6. Tap “Continue”
  7. Enter the new PIN / password etc.
  8. Tap “Continue” > “OK” to confirm

Disable Device Lock:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Lock screen”
  3. Select “None”
  4. To confirm, you will need to enter the current PIN / password / pattern etc.

Turn Emergency Alerts On / Off:

  1. On the home screen, tap “Apps”
  2. Open “Messaging”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
  4. Go to “General settings”
  5. Under “Other”, tap “Emergency alerts”
  6. Check or clear the check boxes associated with “Imminent extreme alerts”, “Imminent severe alerts”, and / or “AMBER alerts”

NOTE: Presidential alerts are enabled by default and cannot be disabled.
