Howdy all, I've recently rekindled my firey love for the Motorola StarTAC. I'm a fan of retro tech, and especially cool technology like the StarTAC. Recently i've began trying to track one down for personal use. I love the way it looks, it has a simple blue backlit LED display, no camera, made of high impact ABS and looked business. I can't find any decent information on this phone without searching and getting bombarded with websites that sell batteries. Before I take the plunge into purchasing one I need to know what i'm in for. I'm aware that most of the models were analog, and analog is goin the way of the do do bird. My question here is, does a digital GSM version of this phone exist or am I out of luck? I want to use it here in Canada on a Fido/Rodgers network and don't want to worry about 'unlocking'. If there are any Motoexperts out there I would greatly appreaciate any help you could give me!

Hi, there is a new updated version of the Star Tac that has been available in Korea. This was some time ago, can't remember what frequencies it operated on. It's actually a really nice looking piece, still business like, and updated. Google it for info.
