Welcome to CellPhoneForums.net! If you'd like, you can post an introduction here: New Member Introductions - Cell Phone Forums
Are you attempting to send a text to a short code, or to a regular number? Also, are you using the area code? If so, do you have "1" in front of it, or not?

Re: Motorola Titanium: Texting
Have you tried sending a message to another number, perhaps one that you haven't sent a message to before? If the number "1" before the area code is in your contacts, and you send a text, it might still use the "1" even if you didn't type it in. You can try taking the "1" out of your contacts.

Re: Motorola Titanium: Texting
If you put the number in manually, but the number is in your contacts with the "1" in front of it, it can still cause the issue.
Have you tried sending a text message to a completely different number?
If this issue continues, I recommend contacting your provider for assistance.
