Clearing an Application's Cache and Data:

NOTE: in case one of your applications is not working correctly, you can try and fix these problems by clearing the application's cache or data. WARNING! While clearing the app's cache will only result in the deletion of temporary files, clearing an app's data will delete any personal information stored in the app, such as user information, settings, profiles, high scores, credit card information etc.

  1. Tap the "Apps" icon while on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" > "More"
  3. Tap "Application manager"
  4. Go to the "All" tab
  5. Select the desired application
  6. Tap "Clear cache" and press "OK"
  7. If clearing the app's cache hasn't fixed the issue, tap "Clear data" > "OK"

Clearing the Phone's Cache Partition:

NOTE: if your phone is not working correctly and you're considering master resetting it, you should try wiping the cache partition first, and see if the process will solve the problems. Unlike master resetting your device, wiping the cache will not result in the deletion of personal data. To clear the cache:

  1. Turn off your smartphone
  2. Press and hold the "Volume Up", "Home" and "Power" buttons at the same time
  3. Once the phone vibrates, release the "Power' key but keep pressing "Volume Up" and "Home"
  4. Once the "Android System Recovery" screen appears, let go of the "Home" and "Volume Up" buttons
  5. Press the "Volume Down" key until you highlight "wipe cache partition"
  6. Press the "Power" button to confirm the highlighted option. Your phone will reboot in normal mode

NOTE: if clearing the cache partition hasn't helped, you may want to master reset it. Visit this link for a full guide on how to reset your Samsung Galaxy Core LTE.
