Audio File Transfer
Transferring Audio Files from a Windows PC:
- Use the USB cable to connect the Galaxy Ace NXT to the computer
- Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- On the PC, from the AutoPlay window, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
- Navigate to the location where you wish to copy the audio files
- Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the audio files stored on your PC's HDD
- Copy the files and paste them on your phone's memory
- Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone
Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your machine
- Launch the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies
- Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the prompts to install Kies on your Mac
- Establish a USB connection between the Ace NXT and Mac
- On the smartphone, drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
- Launch Kies on the Mac, and click the "Folder" icon next to "Internal" or "External memory" (Depending on where you wish to copy the audio files)
- Locate the audio files on your Mac using the file explorer, and drag > drop the files into Kies
- Once the transfer completes, drag the Ace NXT drive icon from the Mac's desktop and into the "Eject / Trash" can
- Safely disconnect your smartphone
Managing the Audio Files on Your Phone
Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Press "Menu" from the home screen
- Tap "Settings" and go to "My device"
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
- Select "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
- Choose to use the selected option "Just once" or "Always"
- Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"
Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:
- Tap "Apps" from the home screen
- Open "My files" > "All files"
- Locate the audio files you wish to transfer
- Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
- Choose "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
- Tap "Paste here"
Changing the Ringtone(s) and Notification Sound
Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:
- Press "Menu" on the home screen
- Tap "Settings" and access the "My Device" tab
- Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
- Select the desired ringtone and press "OK"
Changing the Ringtone for One Contact:
NOTE: you can't set custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on the device's internal memory or the SIM card
- Launch the "Contacts" app
- Select the contact you wish to assign a custom ringtone to
- Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
- Select "Ringtone"
- Choose the desired ringtone and press "OK"
- Tap "Save"
Changing the Notification Sound:
- Access the phone's "Settings" menu
- From the "My device" tab, press "Sound"
- Tap "Notifications"
- Select the desired audio sound to use for notifications
- Press "OK" to confirm
