Audio File Transfer

Transferring Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Use the USB cable to connect the Galaxy Ace NXT to the computer
  2. Swipe the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  3. On the PC, from the AutoPlay window, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Navigate to the location where you wish to copy the audio files
  5. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the audio files stored on your PC's HDD
  6. Copy the files and paste them on your phone's memory
  7. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect your smartphone

Transferring Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: Skip the first 2 steps if Samsung Kies is already installed on your machine

  1. Launch the Internet browser on your Mac and visit Kies
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS" and follow the prompts to install Kies on your Mac
  3. Establish a USB connection between the Ace NXT and Mac
  4. On the smartphone, drag the "Status" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  5. Launch Kies on the Mac, and click the "Folder" icon next to "Internal" or "External memory" (Depending on where you wish to copy the audio files)
  6. Locate the audio files on your Mac using the file explorer, and drag > drop the files into Kies
  7. Once the transfer completes, drag the Ace NXT drive icon from the Mac's desktop and into the "Eject / Trash" can
  8. Safely disconnect your smartphone

Managing the Audio Files on Your Phone

Adding Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Press "Menu" from the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and go to "My device"
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones" > "Add"
  4. Select "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
  5. Choose to use the selected option "Just once" or "Always"
  6. Select the desired audio file and tap "OK"

Adding Audio Files to the Notification List:

  1. Tap "Apps" from the home screen
  2. Open "My files" > "All files"
  3. Locate the audio files you wish to transfer
  4. Tap and hold a file and select "Copy"
  5. Choose "Device storage" and open the "Notifications" folder
  6. Tap "Paste here"

Changing the Ringtone(s) and Notification Sound

Changing the Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Tap "Settings" and access the "My Device" tab
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
  4. Select the desired ringtone and press "OK"

Changing the Ringtone for One Contact:

NOTE: you can't set custom ringtones to contacts that are stored on the device's internal memory or the SIM card

  1. Launch the "Contacts" app
  2. Select the contact you wish to assign a custom ringtone to
  3. Tap the "Edit" icon depicting a pencil
  4. Select "Ringtone"
  5. Choose the desired ringtone and press "OK"
  6. Tap "Save"

Changing the Notification Sound:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. From the "My device" tab, press "Sound"
  3. Tap "Notifications"
  4. Select the desired audio sound to use for notifications
  5. Press "OK" to confirm
