Transfer Audio Files

From a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy Xcover 3 to your computer via USB
  2. Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device" > "Media device (MTP)"
  3. From the AutoPlay window on the computer, click "Open device to view files using Windows Explorer"
  4. Open a second Windows Explorer window and locate the desired audio files on your computer
  5. Copy the files and transfer them in the first Windows Explorer window on the phone storage
  6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and disconnect it from the PC

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac:

NOTE: Skip the first 3 steps if Kies is already installed on your Mac

  1. Launch the Internet explorer on the Mac and visit Kies
  2. Click "Download for Mac OS"
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to install Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Xcover 3 to the Mac via USB
  5. Swipe the "Notification" bar down and tap "Connected as a media device"
  6. Enable "Media device (MTP)"
  7. Launch Kies on the Mac and click the "Folder" icon associated with "External memory" or "Internal memory"
  8. Use the file explorer to locate the desired audio files on your Mac
  9. Drag the files and drop them in Kies
  10. Once the transfer is done, safely disconnect the smartphone by first ejecting the storage

Ringtones and Notifications

Add Audio Files in the Ringtone List:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Access "Settings" and go to "Sound" > "Ringtones"
  3. Tap "Add"
  4. Select "Choose music track" or "Sound picker"
  5. Tap "Always" or "Just once"
  6. Select the desired audio files and tap "OK"

Add Audio Files to the Notification List:

  1. Tap "Apps" > "My Files"
  2. Tap "All files"
  3. Locate the desired audio files then tap and hold them
  4. Tap "Copy" > "Device storage"
  5. Navigate to and open the "Notifications" directory
  6. Tap "Paste here"

Change Ringtones and Notification Sounds

Change the Ringtone for All Calls:

  1. Press "Menu" on the home screen
  2. Go to "Settings"
  3. Tap "Sound" > "Ringtones"
  4. Select a ringtone and tap "OK"

Change a Contact's Ringtone:

NOTE: You can't set custom ringtones on contacts stored on the SIM card or the internal storage

  1. Launch the "Contacts" app
  2. Select the desired contact and tap "Edit" > "Ringtone"
  3. Choose a ringtone and tap "OK"
  4. Tap "Save" to confirm

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Access the phone's "Settings" menu
  2. Tap "Sound" > "Notifications"
  3. Tap "OK"
