Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “System” and tap “Power saving”
  4. Tap “Power saving mode”
  5. Set the switch to “ON”
  6. For additional power saving options, you can enable / disable "Grayscale mode”, “Block background data” etc.

Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Swipe to “Quick Settings” and tap “Display’
  4. Tap “Brightness” and disable “Automatic brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider to the left and tap “OK”
  6. From the “Display” menu, tap “Screen timeout”
  7. Select a lower value like “15 seconds”

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:

NOTE: By disabling your phone’s connectivity features whenever they are not in use (such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth), you can improve battery life in the long run

  1. Access the “Settings” menu
  2. Swipe to “Network Connections”
  3. Tap “Tethering & Mobile Hotspot”
  4. Tap the switch next to “Hotspot” and set it to “OFF”
  5. Return to the home screen and drag the “Status” bar down
  6. Tap the tiles associated with “Wi-Fi”, “Location” and “Bluetooth” to disable these options

Use 2G instead of 4G:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Network Connections”, tap “More networks”
  3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  4. Tap “GSM only”

Change Account / App Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your phone / apps / accounts to sync less data you can prolong your phone’s battery life.

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “User and Backup”
  3. Tap “Accounts”
  4. Access the “Accounts” tab and select the desire account
  5. For more sync options, you can tap your “user name” or “email address” at the top of the screen

Disable Background Data:

  1. Access “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Network Connections”
  3. Tap “Data usage”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Restrict background data”

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Some of your third party apps can have an effect on your battery even if you don’t use them – assuming that these apps run regular processes in the background. As such, you can improve battery life by disabling / removing unused third party apps.

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  2. Under “Applications”, tap “Application manager”
  3. Swipe to “Downloaded” and select the desired app
  4. Tap “Disable” or “Uninstall”
