Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Swipe to System and tap Power saving
- Tap Power saving mode
- Set the switch to ON
- For additional power saving options, you can enable / disable "Grayscale mode, Block background data etc.
Adjust the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Swipe to Quick Settings and tap Display
- Tap Brightness and disable Automatic brightness
- Drag the brightness slider to the left and tap OK
- From the Display menu, tap Screen timeout
- Select a lower value like 15 seconds
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth:
NOTE: By disabling your phones connectivity features whenever they are not in use (such as Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS and Bluetooth), you can improve battery life in the long run
- Access the Settings menu
- Swipe to Network Connections
- Tap Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
- Tap the switch next to Hotspot and set it to OFF
- Return to the home screen and drag the Status bar down
- Tap the tiles associated with Wi-Fi, Location and Bluetooth to disable these options
Use 2G instead of 4G:
- Go to Settings
- Under Network Connections, tap More networks
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Tap GSM only
Change Account / App Sync Settings:
NOTE: By setting your phone / apps / accounts to sync less data you can prolong your phones battery life.
- Open Settings
- Scroll to User and Backup
- Tap Accounts
- Access the Accounts tab and select the desire account
- For more sync options, you can tap your user name or email address at the top of the screen
Disable Background Data:
- Access Settings
- Scroll to Network Connections
- Tap Data usage
- Tap Menu > Restrict background data
Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:
NOTE: Some of your third party apps can have an effect on your battery even if you dont use them assuming that these apps run regular processes in the background. As such, you can improve battery life by disabling / removing unused third party apps.
- Open the apps drawer and go to Settings
- Under Applications, tap Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded and select the desired app
- Tap Disable or Uninstall
