    NOTE: You can visit this thread for instructions on how you can back up data on the Galaxy On5.

    Restore App Data:

    1. Sign in with the Samsung or Google account you used for the backup
    2. Go to “Settings”
    3. Tap “Accounts” under “User and Backup”
    4. Tap “Samsung” or “Google” depending on what type of account contains the backup
    5. Tap your “user name” or “email address” at the top of the screen
    6. Tap “Sync all” and access “User and Backup”
    7. Scroll under “Backup and Restore”, and clear / check the tick boxes next to “Back up my data” and “Automatic restore”

    Restore Contacts from a Samsung or Google Account:

    1. If necessary, register the Samsung or Google account used for backing up contacts
    2. Open “Settings” and scroll to “User and Backup”
    3. Tap “Accounts” and select “Google” or “Samsung”, depending on the type of account synced with the contacts
    4. Tap your “email address” or “user name” at the top of the screen
    5. Enable “Sync Contacts”
    6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

    Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

    1. Connect the Galaxy On5 to your PC via USB
    2. Drag the “Status” bar down and enable “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Launch an Explorer window on the computer and navigate to the media backup files
    4. Copy the backup files and transfer them back on your phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
    5. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB connector

    Restore Media Files from a Mac:

    1. Establish a USB connection between the Galaxy On5 and Mac
    2. Access the notification area and, if necessary, enable “Media device (MTP)”
    3. Open Kies on the Mac and access “Back up / restore”
    4. Click the “Restore” tab and check the boxes next to “Photos”, “Music”, and other types of media files you want to restore
    5. Click “Restore”
    6. If necessary, follow any additional on-screen prompts to complete
    7. After the restore is done, drag the phone’s virtual drive into the “trash can / eject” icon and safely disconnect your phone from the USB connector
