Turn On Battery Saving Mode:
- Tap Apps on the home screen
- Open Settings
- Scroll to System and tap Battery
- Tap the Power Saving Mode switch to enable it
- Choose a battery percentage at which Power Saving Mode enables automatically
Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings and scroll to System
- Tap Battery
- Tap the Ultra power saving mode switch to ON
- Tap Agree to confirm
- Optionally, you can tap + to add more apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen
Disable Unused Connectivity Options:
NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Connections
- Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to turn off
Use 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery life and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.
- Open the apps drawer
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap More connection settings
- Tap Mobile networks > Network mode
- Choose GSM only
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Open Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Display and disable Automatic brightness if necessary
- Tap Screen timeout and select a lower timeout value
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch Settings and scroll to Personal
- Tap Accounts
- Select the desired account type and an account
- Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
- Tap Menu > Sync now
Disable Background Data:
- Open Settings
- Scroll to Connections and tap Data usage
- Tap more > restrict background data
- Tap OK to confirm
Minimize Third Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third party apps can perform regular background processes, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Open the apps drawer
- Go to Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Applications > Application manager
- Swipe to Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Turn off / Disable, or:
- To remove the app, tap Uninstall
