Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “System” and tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the “Power Saving Mode” switch to enable it
  5. Choose a battery percentage at which Power Saving Mode enables automatically

Enable Ultra Power Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “System”
  3. Tap “Battery”
  4. Tap the “Ultra power saving mode” switch to ON
  5. Tap “Agree” to confirm
  6. Optionally, you can tap “+” to add more apps on the Ultra power saving mode home screen

Disable Unused Connectivity Options:

NOTE: By turning off Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth when unused, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections”
  4. Tap the switches associated with the connectivity options you want to turn off

Use 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery life and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve battery life until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “More connection settings”
  4. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Network mode”
  5. Choose “GSM only”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Display” and disable “Automatic brightness” if necessary
  3. Tap “Screen timeout” and select a lower timeout value

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By changing the sync settings of your apps / accounts to reduce sync, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Personal”
  2. Tap “Accounts”
  3. Select the desired account type and an account
  4. Clear the check boxes associated with the sync options you want to turn off
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync now”

Disable Background Data:

  1. Open “Settings”
  2. Scroll to “Connections” and tap “Data usage”
  3. Tap “more” > “restrict background data”
  4. Tap “OK” to confirm

Minimize Third Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third party apps can perform regular background processes, and thus they can potentially affect battery life even when not in use. By disabling or removing unused third party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  3. Tap “Applications” > “Application manager”
  4. Swipe to “Downloaded”
  5. Select the desired app and tap “Turn off” / “Disable”, or:
  6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall”
