Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro to your computer via USB
- Turn Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) ON at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Use the Explorer to locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
- Copy and paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the Ringtones / Notifications folder(s)
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB port
Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:
NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 2 steps.
- Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
- Visit Kies Support
- Click Kies 3 for Mac and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
- Connect the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro to your Mac via USB
- Enable Media device (MTP) / File Transfer (MTP) at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch Kies on the Mac
- In Kies, click the Folder icon next to Internal memory or External memory
- Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the Mac storage
- Drag and drop the files inside Kies to begin the transfer
- When done, drag the phones virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
- You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
Assign Audio Files to the Ringtone List:
- Open Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds and ringtones
- Tap Ringtones and sounds > Ringtone
- Tap Add ringtone and select Sound picker
- Select the audio files you want to use as ringtones and tap Done
Change the General Ringtone:
- Launch Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds and notifications
- Under Sound, tap Ringtones and sounds
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Tap Back to confirm
Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:
NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones to contacts located on the phones internal memory or the SIM card.
- Open Contacts
- Select the desired contact and tap Edit
- Tap Ringtone and select the desired ringtone
- Tap OK > Save to confirm
Change the Notification Alert Sound:
- Launch Settings and scroll to Device
- Tap Sounds & notifications
- Tap Ringtones and sound under Sounds
- Select a notification type and the desired notification sound
- Tap Back to confirm
