Transfer Audio Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro to your computer via USB
  2. Turn “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” ON at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the desired audio files on the computer storage
  5. Copy and paste the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Ringtones” / “Notifications” folder(s)
  6. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect it from the USB port

Transfer Audio Files from a Mac Computer:

NOTE: If Samsung Kies is already installed on the Mac, skip the first 2 steps.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the Mac
  2. Visit Kies Support
  3. Click “Kies 3 for Mac” and follow the on-screen prompts to install Kies on the Mac
  4. Connect the Samsung Galaxy J2 Pro to your Mac via USB
  5. Enable “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  6. Launch Kies on the Mac
  7. In Kies, click the “Folder” icon next to “Internal memory” or “External memory”
  8. Open the File Finder on the Mac and locate the desired audio files on the Mac storage
  9. Drag and drop the files inside Kies to begin the transfer
  10. When done, drag the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and drop it into the trash can to eject it
  11. You can safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Assign Audio Files to the Ringtone List:

  1. Open “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Sounds and ringtones”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sounds” > “Ringtone”
  4. Tap “Add ringtone” and select “Sound picker”
  5. Select the audio files you want to use as ringtones and tap “Done”

Change the General Ringtone:

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Sounds and notifications”
  3. Under “Sound”, tap “Ringtones and sounds”
  4. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  5. Tap “Back” to confirm

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: You cannot set custom ringtones to contacts located on the phone’s internal memory or the SIM card.

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Select the desired contact and tap “Edit”
  3. Tap “Ringtone” and select the desired ringtone
  4. Tap “OK” > “Save” to confirm

Change the Notification Alert Sound:

  1. Launch “Settings” and scroll to “Device”
  2. Tap “Sounds & notifications”
  3. Tap “Ringtones and sound” under “Sounds”
  4. Select a notification type and the desired notification sound
  5. Tap “Back” to confirm
