I Need Help

I have a Samsung Cellphone with Net 10, which I pay ahead as I
don't use this phone too often, in fact I rarely use it. (I use my land line)
Anyway, I have no instructions, I'm 73, and need help with operating it.
Is there someone out there who can tell me what this symbol means?
It's a slash from upper left to lower right, with a dark something on each side.


Also, if I call a number from my cellphone, I get a message on the
phone screen which states "EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY". Could you please help me/

I don't know what the symbol itself means but if you are getting a message saying "EMERGENCY CALLS ONLY" then I think you probably need to put minutes on your phone. In the case that it has minutes then you need to call your service provider to see what the problem is.
