Your welcome Gengoco, now I need to show you how to get your Voicemail button working in iPhone (otherwise you will have to call your own phone number to get your voice messages.)

So there is a VERY simple way to get your native Voicemail button in iPhone to work with Straight Talk's voicemail service. It will still not be visual voicemail but it will give you the convienance of using the native Voicemail button in iPhone.

Luckily, the "push notifications" from Straight Talk work on the iPhone automatically ie. you will receive status alerts when you have incoming voicemail, but when you click on the native Voicemail button, it pops up with an AT&T screen "Call AT&T to activate Visual Voicemail", so I found a simple fix, again from another website.

"The iPhone hacking geniuses over at iPhone Dev Team have found a way around the first known issue. Here are the steps to follow which should work using any carrier.

1.You need to first get your carrier's voicemail number. (flyguy2000: In this case for Straight Talk, its simply your own cell phone number.)
2.Click on your iPhone's phone button.
3.Then click on the Keypad tab.
4.You need to then add the following code: *5005*86*xxx#. Here xxx would be your voicemail number.
5.After entering the code you tap call. (flyguy2000: It won't actually dial, the screen just blinks black and it looks like nothing has happened. But if you click on your Voicemail button now, it will now work!!)
6.This results in the code being set.
7.Thats all, tap now on the voicemail button and it should automatically call your usual voicemail service."

Here is the website I used to find this information: Use this Hack to Activate the Voicemail Button on your Unlocked iPhone – iPhone Hacks

Hope this helps! You guys can email me if you have any questions, [email protected] .

Are the SIM cards different sizes or something or what exactly is the reason? Or is it that the information saying you can't do it is old and now Straight Talk does have phones that use SIM cards and you can now do it? Of course, if I could do it I would save $85+ a month and it would make an iPhone affordable for me. I just couldn't justify $130 a month but now NEED to use it as I'm in need of some business software that comes with the iPhone and connects with the computer. With the iPhone I can enter data for business (mainly expenses and contacts and hours spent) into the iPhone and sync with the computer and really simplify my life. So.....help!
Chuckcloniger, did you get your iPhone working?

Re: Using Straight Talk with iPhone?

I purchased the ST Nokia e71 about three months ago at Walmart. The phone is really built well and has great features but is a bit buggy. It shuts off on it's own sometimes when I'm in a call, texting, or web browsing. Quite annoying. It's great to see that the ST e71 sim does work in an Apple iphone3G. Does anyone know if the sim card will work an unlocked Nokia X6? ([ame=http://www.amazon.com/Nokia-Unlocked-Camera-Capacitive-Navigation/dp/B0036DDT74/ref=sr_1_33?ie=UTF8&qid=1299773740&sr=8-33]Amazon.com: Nokia X6 Unlocked GSM Phone with 5 MP Camera, Capacitive Touch, GPS with Voice Navigation, Car Holder, 3G and 16 GB Memory (Black Cap): Cell Phones & Accessories[/VIDEO])... For the price it seems like a good choice since the iphone is so expensive.

Goochma, if the Nokia X6 is an AT&T original phone, I don't see why not. So far the people I have consulted with state that this unlocked Straight Talk sim found in the E71 works in every AT&T 3G phone they have tested thus far...

Re: Using Straight Talk with iPhone?

Does it matter what type of iphone you have? I want to purchase an iphone since I will be able to use it on straight talk now..

I've had an e71 for about 6 months now on straight talk network.
I'm going to buy an unlocked iphone on ebay but need to know if it matters what ios and version the iphone is??? Ive never had an iphone so I'm clueless.
So what type of iphone do I need to buy?

Will the iphone need to be activated through At&T first with their sim card or as soon as I get it in the mail, can I insert my straight talk sim card into it?

Re: Using Straight Talk with iPhone?

How do I get the MMS to work with my iPhone using Straight Talk, I have everything working except MMS and I want to find out if it will work without jailbreaking the phone, I have tried several of the online jailbreaks but they all end up locking my phone and I have to restore it, I would think if txt, voice and internet work MMS should work. Anyone have a fix for this or am I just missing something

Re: Using Straight Talk with iPhone?

Can You guys help me? I want to go to straight talk, after being abused my AT&T. I want to use my old iphone 3g with it but I read that i have to have the Nokia e71 model because the sim card is unlocked. Is there any other way i can get around this? Like using ziphone to change the IMEI number on my iphone to the one on the phone i get from straight talk? will that work in activating the phone? and then going in cydia and changing the settings to enable mms?

Basically, am I absolutely stuck with having to get that nokia e71 sim?

    please email me!! thank you!

Re: Using Straight Talk with iPhone?

Nope you are stuck with the iPhone and AT&T, Straight Talk no longer sells the Nokia E71, Straight Talk for their GSM phones used AT&T's network and when people found out they could use the E71's sim card in their iPhone, people bought them like candy bars and started to cancel their iPhone accounts with AT&T, so AT&T presuaded Straight Talk not to sell the E71,so it is no longer available, do not try to buy one on E-Bay because it is useless with out the SIM card...sorry but that is coporate money working against us....

I really don't know, but you might go to WalMArt in your area and see if they have any Nokia E71's left in stock, I know some stores still have them but if you check online with Straigh Talk their website does not show any GSM/ SIM card Smart Phones at all.

The Walmart where I live had 4 Nokia E71's last night, they were all gone this afternoon, the guy working there said 3 of the people who bought them were going to use the SIM card for their iPhones, but did not know if they worked or not, he said he did not know if the new E71 SIM cards were now branded or not, but these were the first ones they had received from Straight Talk in a couple of months.

I got it working on the 4s by: starting with the st sim card in and the phone on, go to settings and open up the menu, remove st sim insert t mobile (only until new menu opens- then take it out immediately) reinsert the st sim card go to the bottom of the menu and hit reset- the att settings will come up- if they don’t hit reset again.
once they are up use the st setting by typeing over the one that are there. if you just fill in blanks it will never work you need to see the old setting before you proceed.

Re: Using Straight Talk with iPhone?

    Hello everyone,

I am new here and this may have been mentioned in another thread, but Straight Talk now sells just the sim card. You can bring your own phone as long as it is AT&T, T-Mobile or unlocked. I bought a used iPhone on eBay and ordered the sim card from Straight Talk. You can even keep your same phone number.
