I use AT&T for my 3 cell phones, one a cheap smart phone and the other two are not smart phones. I have a family plan. My wife and daughter have the dumb phones. Our contract expired over a year ago so now I am month-to-month with AT&T. I live in Greenfield, IN which lies 15 miles east of the east side of Indianapolis.
I am thinking of switching to T-Mobile but have read many negative reviews concerning coverage, poor customer service, etc. If I switch to T-mobile I can use my current phones I think and T-mobile is definitely cheaper and no contract. I haven't asked them if they can port my three numbers from AT&T.
I called T-Mobile and they said I would have 2G coverage at my house and anywhere in Greenfield. I do a lot of traveling to Columbus, OH, Fort Belvoir, VA, Fort Eustis, VA and Cross Lanes, WV. I may end up at Fort Rucker, AL for a few months too.
BLUF in terms of coverage and customer service could you recommend switching? I am fairly happy with AT&T but am looking to cut costs and perhaps purchase the BlackBerry Z10 on their 24 month payment plan. I like T-Mobiles no contract business model and their family plans. I have no plans to tether my phone.

Re: Should I switch to T-Mobile from AT&T?
T-Mobile definitely has worse coverage in my experience on the east coast. Ive had T-Mobile sprint and att. T-Mobile was by far the worst coverage. Technically your no contract but if you do the 0 down thing and dont pay for the phone up front you have to sign a contract on the phone itself. It might be cheaper but would it be worth it for the service? There are other options if your just looking to save money tbh. Like going to a prepaid carrier with your current phones.

Re: Should I switch to T-Mobile from AT&T?
I left AT&T last month and went to T-Mobile and haven't looked back!
I had no compliants with AT&T for almost 4yrs but up until a few months ago I started having constant bill issues with hidden chargers that no rep or manager could explain or help me with.
So far I love T-Mobile and have no complaints but definitely do your homework before you make the switch. Goodluck!
