The Tom-Tom package for symbian smartphones (this includes the N70) comes
with a bluetooth GPS receiver. You don't have to use their GPS receiver
though, you can buy just their software and use it with another GPS
receiver although i would first check that Tom-Tom is compatible with it.
Check out the Tom-Tom web site.

If i bought a cheap GPS receiver and got the software is there a running

it?

costs nothing to use but early N70's Have problems with the bluetooth and
keep crashing after about 5 mins. use of the Tom Tom software. I do not know
if this has been rectified on the later ones.

nope, I'm on V5 firmware and it still loses Bluetooth connection to the GPS
device (Holux GPSlim236)
there are a number of fixes, see www.pgpsworld.co.uk, with varying degrees
of success but they haven't worked for me

Very few phones have GPS, you get it with the package as a seperate
receiver.
However I wouldn't recommend the N70 and TomTom, it has had many problems.
