At home I get a rubbish signal from vodafone (and most other sp's) and
consequently am loosing unused minutes by using my land line.
I reckon by putting the phone by the window, in the upstairs box room,
attached to a coat hanger with bluetak, etc I will get a few bars and could
then receive calls via a bt headset.
But is there any headset that will facilitate making calls without voice
recognition ('cos my phone don't support v.r.)?
Thank you.
PS I have been offered 400(ukp) worth of signal booster but that's a big
hammer for this problem and would take 1yr+ to pay for itself.

I think your'e snookered there without VR. Reminds of a time when I was
in Catterick and the only way I could get a signal was to put my phone
on a chair and stand that on a desk near the window. Only prob was to
make or receive calls I alos had to stand on the desk.
A simpler solution might be your phone, I've had situations where I
could pick up a signal on my Ericsson PF768 and my wife's nokia was
showing no bars. Perhaps if you told us what phone you have someone
could suggest an alternative.

A cheap phone with an external aerial might be better.

The phone is a Sharp 902 that still has a bit to go on it's contract,
unfortunately.
