Everyone is waiting for the next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5, but some people have gone a little too far when it comes to taking advantage of "the next best thing."

There is a text message scam going around regarding the iPhone 5 and being an iPhone 5 tester. This scam has gone as far as reaching Android users and as you can see in the screenshot above, it states that "Apple is looking for iPhone 5 testers! The first 1000 users that go to "the site" and enter a code will get to test and keep a new iPhone 5."

We are here to tell you right now, that there is no such thing going on and that you will not receive an iPhone 5 by doing what this "SCAM" says. It would be in your best interest not to click on the link, as we do not know how or what this link may contain.

Thanks for sharing this valuable info. These and other scams are not going to disappear. Actually, it turns out also that more and more aging people are getting caught in scams via iPhone. So, phone protection needs to be considered seriously. A smartphone app called MobileMonitor is a quick and effective way to see whether your parents are being contacted by suspicious people who want to make money from them. The app is available to download via Cydia. If interested, do check it out
