You can use the sim you already have into another T-Mobile branded phone...
if it's not a T-Mobile branded phones, it needs to be unlocked and also be sure that it's GSM and works on the 1900 Mhz band.

It seem as though with prepaid you don't sign a contract anyways ??? but for that price it may be that thats what it's gonna cost you without rebates. (T-mobile reps don't work off commision) Although I'm not sure about in-store reps.

Thanks...
Still uncertain what unlocking requires, but I'm closer. The store rep acted like I couldn't use the same SIMM. I just think she really doesn't know, a high school gal with the easy job.

as long as it's a T-Mobile phone you'll have no need to unlock it..

yes we do and a rather good commission at that. competition to get someone to buy anything, no matter what, is quite ferice.

Wound up getting one prepaid camera phone, $239 with tax, $50 of that a mailin rebate. When I asked, the rep told me that the phone would need unlocked to use the other SIMM card (it too was a T-Mobile). So I guess I caved, quit askin and just paid. So---
Since it's so easy to pull out the SIMM, what does happen when someone tries the card in another phone? Does the phone lock you out? Just won't work? I want to be able to tell my 14yo why not to mess with it.
Sorry bout the ??? but I'm 47 and behind the curve on this one.

Incentives are a little bit diff than commision, when you sell a bluetooth or the insurance and make a bonus, it's not the same as selling the plan phone and contract and making a COMMISION.

it still = money in the pocket once you exceed your quota

Might I clarify the reason for the word commission in MY original post? It seemed I was not given much explanation by the sales rep for the various phones/plans, given the amount of questions I had. I really had no desire to discuss employee incentives or other bonus awards for an employee. Having said this, surely you more educated folks understand the term "hijack". Blow your own thread please!
